Olufemi “Olu” Sonubi received his Doctor of Physical Therapy from SUNY Downstate Medical Center. Olu is NSCA certified as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist and has experience in orthopedic, neurological, and acute inpatient Physical Therapy. He also holds certifications in IASTM, kinesiology taping, and is a certified stick mobility coach. He has helped clients achieve goals in many areas of fitness from pre-marathon strength and conditioning to general fat loss and health promotion. Olu believes that every client comes with a specific set of goals and that his job is to facilitate the process of his client getting to where they want to be. Olu’s treatment approach emphasizes getting to the root of pain, while treating painful symptoms. He facilitates self-efficacy and an active treatment environment that empowers his patient to take action in their physical therapy / health and wellness journey.
Zeena Hernandez received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Utica College. Zeena has 5 years of experience in different physical therapy settings and has treated various conditions including neurological, orthopedic and cardiopulmonary impairments. Recently, she was awarded Physical Therapist of the year 2018 by the Academy of Filipino-American Physical Therapists (AFAPT) for her contribution and commitment to service and excellence. Zeena believes that the key to facilitating recovery from an injury is establishing a solid collaboration between therapist and client. She believes in not only treating a body part or the biomechanical aspect of an injury but the whole person. She empowers clients and patients by getting them mentally and physically ready to return to play or work. She is passionate about health and wellness. She used to run half marathons until she discovered her love for barbell sports through Crossfit.
Dr. Slava Nisonov studied for 7 years at Hunter College, where he received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. He has always been passionate about human anatomy and science, as well as fitness, which drove his desire to help people overcome their health challenges using exercise and movement. Slava also has a great appreciation for the psychological benefits of physical therapy, and loves getting to know and connecting with the patients that he works with. These valuable experiences guided him into finding his passion for the outpatient orthopedic setting, where he plans to grow and build his career for the foreseeable future. Outside of the clinic, Slava enjoys finding new music to listen to, rooting for his New York Giants, playing basketball and handball in Queens, where he resides, and grabbing dinner with family and friends.
