Dr. Mark Amir is a licensed physical therapist, and a university professor teaching the latest evidence-based health care to graduate physical therapy students. His specialization is in health and wellness, health care policy, education, Industrial Injury Prevention and sports training. Dr. Amir is the coauthor of the book “Why Does My Back Hurt So Much” which was used by multiple companies as a tool to educate their employees on managing back pain. Personally, Dr. Amir is a lifelong athlete. He graduated from Midwood High School where he played and then coached football, Played Division III College football, has run in four NYC Marathons (twice as a support for disabled athletes), has taught the self-defense discipline of Krav Maga, and was a long-standing coach of Youth Flag Football. He worked his way through college and graduate school as a full-time Emergency Medical Technician with NY Hospital - Cornell Medical Center Emergency Medical Services. He has 3 sons who he inspires by being a proactive, health-conscious role model.

Being a lifelong learner, Dr. Almanastirly never stops improving his skills. He helps his patients by being an empathetic listener, and an expert clinician. He is one of a handful of unique physical therapist in the United States that is a Board Certified Orthopedic Specialist (OCS), a certification awarded by the American Physical Therapy Association, after passing a rigorous exam in 2017. Prior to that, in 2010, he received his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Touro College. In order to help his patients even more, Dr. Almanastirly is pursuing an advanced manual therapy training with NIAOMT (The North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy). Dr. Almanastirly is an avid athlete, playing competitive soccer who also enjoys cycling. He is a great clinical diagnostician, listener and advocate for his patients. 9 years experience treating Neurological and complex orthopedic problems NIAOMT training – started in 2018 Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (APTA) – Completed 2017 Doctor of Physical Therapy (Touro College) – Completed 2010 Bachelor’s of Physical Therapy (Cairo University) – 2010
