PHYSICAL THERAPIST BIO

Bre received a Bachelor’s degree of Science in Physical Therapy from Bradley University in 2001. She has worked exclusively treating orthopedic injury and post-surgical orthopedic patients in Peoria, IL for 12 years. Bre received a Manual Therapy Certification and Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2004; by 2006, she completed an Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency and Fellowship program with the Ola Grimsby Institute. She is proud to be a member of both the national and state physical therapy associations (APTA and IPTA) and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Physical Therapy. Bre has a passion for treating patients following orthopedic surgeries, individuals with back and neck pain and runners. In her spare time, Bre enjoys teaching on many levels, exercising and spending time with her husband, 2 children and extended family and friends. What made you decide on this career? Bre was "lucky enough" to tear both her right and left ACL 2 different years playing sports in high school. After going through 3 knee surgeries and several rounds of physical therapy herself, she decided that it actually was a blessing in disguise as it motivated her to pursue physical therapy as a profession. She observed PT patients with various orthopedic injuries and knew she wanted to be a part of helping people of all ages return to sports, decrease pain and be able to tolerate their normal daily activities. What is the thing you love most about your job? Helping patients understand their injury and empowering them to make changes and work hard to succeed and be healthy is Bre's passion. Seeing a patient reach their goals and tell her with excitement that they have not felt so good in a long time is incredibly gratifying.

He is an active member in the Illinois Physical Therapy Association (IPTA) and the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA.) He is an avid sports fan and enjoys fishing, traveling to Walt Disney World, and spending time with his wife, Liz, and two children. What made you decide on this career? ""Having a mother that is a registered nurse, I always knew that I was interested in the health fields, but never knew exactly where I fit. That all changed when I was a junior in high school, fractured my hand in a basketball game, and required physical therapy afterwards. Physical therapy meshed my love for sports with my interest in medicine and was the perfect choice for me."" What is the thing you love most about your job? ""I believe that in life we are all given gifts and that mine is to share what I know with my patients to help them recover from their injuries. The opportunity to help our patients through these difficult times in their lives and get them better is tremendously internally rewarding and a true blessing. The people that walk through our door may start out as patients, but they leave as friends. I am fortunate that I can say that I truly love what I do!"""

ABOUT THIS CLINIC

We are a patient-centered, therapist-led organization dedicated to improving the health of our Midwest communities. The patient is at the center of our efforts, not just a number on the bottom line like you'll find in some large healthcare companies. Thousands of loyal patients can attest to the difference.
