Avi Zinn

PHYSICAL THERAPIST BIO

Dr. Avi Zinn has practiced physical therapy in many settings prior to opening his own clinic in Atlanta: outpatient orthopedic clinics, hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and in people’s homes. He is an expert in treating all different types of pain and injury, and in developing treatment plans that bring people back to their most functional selves as quickly as possible. Avi’s main mission in opening Druid Hills PT is to utilize the experience he has gained in the field to provide high-quality, personalized care to each and every one of his patients. Avi has his doctorate in physical therapy from Touro College, and is a Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist. He lives with his wife and three children in the Toco Hills area.

Maggie Scheessele

PHYSICAL THERAPIST BIO

Maggie Scheessele is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist who specializes in orthopedics and sports medicine. She has experience treating a variety of musculoskeletal injuries, and her specific interests include Dance and Performing Arts Medicine. In addition to working at Druid Hills Physical Therapy, Maggie also works with dancers from Atlanta Ballet, diagnosing and treating their injuries in order to allow them to dance on stage. She is certified in trigger point dry needling, Selective Functional Movement Assessment (Level 1), and she has taken extensive courses on pain science and manual plus manipulative therapy. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Indiana University in 2013 and a Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from Emory University in 2016. She also completed an Orthopedic Residency with Upstream Rehabilitation Institute in 2017. Her hobbies include traveling with her husband Luke, hot yoga, crafting, reading, and listening to true crime podcasts.

Megan Cassidy

Megan Cassidy graduated with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Georgia State University in 2010 and specializes in orthopedic rehabilitation. She is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and has worked as a personal trainer and a high-school track and field coach. Megan is certified in advanced manual techniques including Trigger Point Dry Needling, and she obtained her Manual Therapy Certification in 2017. Megan utilizes a whole-body approach to her assessments in order to find the driving cause of each patient’s dysfunction, and an innovative style to her treatments in order to achieve each individual’s greatest level of comfort and function.
