Nicholas Byrne

PHYSICAL THERAPIST BIO

Nicholas received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Binghamton University in 2012 with a degree in Biology. Upon receiving his undergraduate degree, Nicholas pursued his career in physical therapy at Stony Brook University's Doctorate of Physical Therapy Program. While in the Doctorate of Physical Therapy Program, Nicholas completed clinical rotations in sub-acute rehab, acute rehab, the neonatal ICU, trauma ICU, and manual outpatient orthopedics. Currently, Nicholas has been working to further his manual therapy skills by taking continuing education classes through the Institute of Physical Art. Through the Institute of Physical Art's teachings, Nicholas incorporates the principles of functional manual therapy into each patient he treats. This functional manual therapy treatment approach focuses on the interrelationship between limitations of joint mobility, soft tissue restrictions, core stability, and neurovascular limitations to successfully address each patients needs. By incorporating the functional manual therapy approach into evaluations and treatments, Nicholas gives each patient the strategies needed to be successful with physical therapy. Nicholas is on track to become a Certified functional Manual Therapist by 2021 through the Institute of Physical Art. Outside of physical therapy, Nicholas enjoys kayaking, fishing, playing golf, and woodworking.

Kate Byrne

PHYSICAL THERAPIST BIO

Kate received her Bachelor of Arts from Binghamton University, where she double majored in Biology and Spanish. Kate then went on to attend Stony Brook University where she received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. During this time, Kate completed clinical rotations in the acute care setting, outpatient orthopedics with an emphasis on treating the athletic population, and manual outpatient orthopedics. While at Stony Brook, Kate also volunteered with the program Fit Kids for Life. This is a program designed to help kids maintain an active lifestyle and prevent childhood obesity and cardiovascular disease. Kate was inducted into the Alpha Eta Honor Society whose members consist of the top 20% of the graduating class. Kate aspires to take continuing education courses that focus on treating the pediatric oncology population as well as courses from the Institute of Physical Art. In her spare time Kate enjoys playing tennis and going on hikes.

Robert Mosca

Following his undergraduate education, at the University at Albany, Rob received his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Stony Brook University. After completion of the Doctorate program he has concentrated his focus on orthopedic physical therapy. He specializes in hands on treatment of orthopedic and post surgical conditions and has a true passion for sports related injuries. Rob is certified through the Titleist Performance Institute as a medical professional which makes him a great fit for managing golf related injuries and performance. Rob also has extensive experience working with various balance and vestibular disorders including positional vertigo, Ménière's disease, post concussion syndrome and more. Robert is also an avid runner who has now completed five full marathons with his eyes set on many more. With this passion comes an extensive knowledge base when treating running based injuries and analyzing runner's strides.
