Amit received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, where he also earned his Bachelor’s degree in Science and Health Sciences. During his time in college, Amit was very athletically active, playing on the basketball, soccer and volleyball teams. Amit’s clinical experience includes subacute neurological rehabilitation, general outpatient orthopedics and sports physical therapy. He recently finished a sports residency program at the University of Delaware, where he had the opportunity to work side-by-side with a variety of teams in the training room. He has a special interest in treating high school and college level athletes who plan to return to competitive sports. During his free time, Amit enjoys playing volleyball, basketball and soccer, traveling, and exploring New York City’s evolving food scene.

Patrick Watson

Patrick Watson is the Clinical Director of SPEAR’s Midtown – East 56th Street location. Patrick received his Bachelor’s degree in Community Health from Hofstra University and his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from New York Medical College. Patrick focuses on the treatment of orthopedic and sports injuries. Over his career, Patrick has personally experienced a wide range of injuries, which required him to go to physical therapy, each time returning to play lacrosse. These experiences lead Patrick to realize that PT was a profession that would allow him to have a positive effect on others. This valuable experience, coupled with the personal insight of the required hard work and partnership between the patient and physical therapist, is leading to his patients’ success and excellent results. The application of his physical therapy education to patient treatment demonstrates that successful physical therapy plans consist of a combination of manual therapy and therapeutic exercise to assist patients to return to optimal levels of function and reach their goals.

David Endres, PT, MS

David Endres is the co-founder of SPEAR Physical Therapy, Head of SPEAR Project Management and is the Chief Clinical Compliance Officer. After graduating from Touro College with a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy, Dave worked for the NYC Board of Education treating children with severe physical disabilities and gaining extensive experience in an outpatient physical therapy setting. He now concentrates his practice in orthopedics, musculoskeletal rehabilitation and the treatment of sports injury. Dave has varied experience in competitive sports on a recreational, inter-collegiate and professional level. Before starting his physical therapy graduate studies, Dave played numerous professional squash tournaments throughout the Northeast and worked as a teaching pro in NYC. He now continues to play squash recreationally and has coupled his knowledge of technique with expertise in biomechanics to effectively treat and prevent injury in the players of all levels. He has worked with the Squash Tournament of Champions in Grand Central Terminal and treats local and visiting PSA/SDA players on a regular basis. Dave has a strong passion for family, the outdoors and life. He spends most of his free time surfing, skiing, bike riding and attending his sons sporting events.

Emily Ward, PT, DPT

Emily Ward graduated summa cum laude with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Mississippi after receiving her degree in Exercise Science of Kinesiology from Mississippi College. As Captain and MVP, she played four years of college tennis and was certified as a tennis teaching professional. Emily has experience working in a level one trauma center in the outpatient setting, treating primarily ortho-trauma cases and sports related injuries. She has also worked internationally in the British West Indies. In Anguilla, BWI, she implemented injury prevention and training programs to athletes, worked with local clientele, and volunteered in the PT realm with several nonprofit foundations. She then moved to NYC to work as head physical therapist and performance coach for Sportime (John McEnroe Tennis Academy). Emily has experience working with Adidas and top players from the WTA and ATP tour. Emily, a southern girl, born and raised in Mississippi, is an adventure seeker with a passion for exploring the world. In her free time, she enjoys working out, playing tennis, eating, and spending time with her friends and family.

Aleksandra Kuta, PT, DPT

Aleksandra earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2013 and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology in 2009 from Hunter College in NYC. She came to the United States with her family from Poland when she was 13 years old. In high school, she enjoyed playing soccer and tennis, eventually injuring her knee, which led to her discovery of physical therapy. She soon became fascinated by the human body and pursued her passion of becoming a physical therapist. Aleksandra has experience in outpatient sports therapy, as well as inpatient acute care and acute rehabilitation spinal cord injury. In addition, Aleksandra has experience in home care which she still enjoys. Aleksandra has taken extensive continuing education courses geared towards outpatient manual therapy and continues to seek out learning opportunities whenever she can. In her free time, Aleksandra enjoys working out, playing tennis and traveling the world.

Tom earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy degree from Springfield College and his Bachelor’s degree in Biological Science from Binghamton University. Throughout his clinical experiences he gained exposure to a wide variety of patient populations, including ICU, cardiovascular, pulmonary, neuro, and orthopedic/sports. During his clinical experience, Tom developed a passion for providing the highest quality evidence-based care. He believes in a holistic treatment approach and that patient education is the most powerful tool that physical therapists possess. Tom’s clinical interests include orthopedic and sports rehabilitation. He is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and loves promoting health and wellness to everyone around him. In his free time, Tom enjoys biking, hiking, playing recreational sports, and spending time with his friends and family. Tom also frequently participates in competitive powerlifting, with personal records of 580 lbs. squat, 330 lbs. bench press, and 667 lbs. deadlift.

Sebastian Altomarino, PT, DPT

Sebastian received his bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science & his Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT. During his academic experience, Sebastian worked in a myriad of facilities & rehab centers. He completed his final rotation at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, MS with a focus on tactile military orthopedic conditions & inpatient rehabilitation. Sebastian is a native of Queens. Prior to playing Division I Soccer at Sacred Heart University, Sebastian played for Archbishop Molloy High School & was a player for the New York Cosmos Development Academy. Sebastian’s exposure to the melting pot of NYC led to his interest in a profession with a common “language” – that common language was exercise & movement. Sebastian’s involvement in volunteering, sports, & academia guided him to pursue a career in health. He explored different physical therapy settings & was instantly attracted to a career in which individuals start living a better life.

Matthew Hosokawa, PT, DPT

Matt earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Northwestern University in Chicago and his Bachelor of Science in kinesiology from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana. Matt began the first three years of his clinical practice in Chicago, treating a wide variety of surgical and non-surgical orthopedic conditions. He practiced physical therapy for five years in Los Angeles before eventually moving to New York City. Matt’s clinical interests include orthopedic and sports rehabilitation, and gait analysis for runners. He has extensive experience treating patients who have undergone arthroscopic procedures for the spine and the joints of the arms and legs. Matt has a passion for helping patients reach their goals and improve their overall health and wellness. In his free time, Matt enjoys long-distance running, weightlifting, snowboarding, hiking, playing team sports and spending time with his friends and family. Matt is a fan of Chicago’s sports teams, including the Bears, Blackhawks, Cubs/White Sox and Bulls.

Brooke earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy and Master’s degree in Anatomy and Clinical Health Science from the University of Delaware. She also received her Bachelor’s degree in Health Science from the University of Miami. Brooke’s interest in physical therapy began when she was young; she always had a passion for science and a desire to apply this interest to helping others. She views the relationship between a physical therapist and a patient to be much like a team. Every individual is different and requires a unique exercise prescription in order to improve their quality of life. Brooke takes the time to truly listen to her patients and develop an appropriate plan that addresses each person’s concerns, goals, and aspirations for the future.Brooke is originally from Bucks County, PA. She recently moved to New York from Phoenix, AZ, where she was working in an outpatient physical therapy clinic treating a wide range of diagnoses. Her clinical experience includes working in the areas of geriatrics, post-operative rehabilitation, orthopedic injuries, low back pain, total joint replacement, sports medicine, fibromyalgia, and chronic pain. Additionally, Brooke is certified with LSVT BIG, a program that utilizes evidence-based research and is specifically designed to work with patients who have a diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease.In her free time, Brooke enjoys spending time with her friends and family, going to the beach, traveling the world, and hiking. She has a passion for exercise, nature, and animals.

Stephanie O'Brien, DPT

Stephanie earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Stony Brook University, where she also obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. During her clinical rotations, she had experiences in several outpatient orthopedic facilities and spent time volunteering to help runners at the NYC Marathon. Growing up, Stephanie played soccer on several different teams; watching her teammates go through rehabilitation after suffering various types of injuries sparked her interest in the physical therapy field. Stephanie has a strong interest in manual therapy skills, utilizing these techniques in combination with therapeutic exercises to work with her patients in achieving their goals. She hopes to also help injured athletes return to the sports and activities they love, and get back to life sooner. Stephanie continues to lead an active lifestyle, frequently boxing, weightlifting and playing indoor soccer on local co-ed leagues. During the winter season, you can find her skiing out on the slopes!

Caitlin Selva, PT, DPT, RYT

Cait earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy and Bachelor’s degree in Health Science from Quinnipiac University in Connecticut. Cait was a competitive gymnast until the age of 18 and due to the nature of the sport, had many injuries and three surgeries, all requiring physical therapy. This is what sparked Cait’s passion and interest in the field. She realized then that not only is it important to treat a patient’s physical impairments, but also to treat each patient from a more holistic approach. Cait takes extra care to get to know each of her patients individually and caters her treatment approach to match their needs. Cait grew up in East Brunswick, NJ and moved to NYC once she finished graduate school. Most of her clinical experience includes working with orthopedic and sports injuries. She also has experience working with geriatrics and patients with different neurological diagnoses. She recently returned from Thailand, where she completed a 200hr yoga teacher training. Cait is certified in Reiki and plans to utilize what she learned in these trainings to better serve her patients. In her free time, Cait enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends, practicing yoga, Pilates and barre, going to the beach, eating delicious food, and traveling all over the world.
