Matthew Klayman

Matthew Klayman is the clinical supervisor at Zarett Rehab & Fitness. He attended Pennsylvania State University where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology before attending Rutgers University where he graduated with his Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2012. Since that time, Matt has grown a passion for treating orthopedic and athletic injuries with a specialization in the treatment of lower body injuries and runners. He is heavily involved in the running community in Philadelphia as well; giving multiple lectures and presentations on injury prevention and running mechanics. Matt believes in the power of manual therapy and the use of a comprehensive full body approach in the treatment of his patients. He has recently earned numerous certifications including becoming a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS). This specialization provides formal recognition for Physical Therapists with advanced clinical knowledge, experience and skills in the treatment of the Orthopedic population. Along with this, Matt holds numerous accolades including being a Manual Therapy Certified Therapist and Barefoot Rehab Specialist. He also recently obtained his FMT Basic Kinesiology Taping Certification along with a level 1 certification from SFMA.

Christopher Cush

Christopher Cush earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy and his Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology from Temple University. He takes a manual therapy based approach to rehabilitation. He has been certified in Graston Technique and has taken several Maitland Australian Physiotherapy classes, which have a focus on joint mobilization and movement. Dr. Cush is a firm believe in evidence based practice, which keeps him up to date with the latest treatment options in Physical therapy. He has worked in outpatient rehabilitation since 2013. He has given multiple lectures to local athletic teams/organizations. He has an SFMA certification, which allows him to asses the entire body when creating treatment plans for patients. He enjoys playing and rehabbing golf athletes. Dr. Cush enjoys giving back to the community and one charity in particular that he participates in is “Cradles to Crayons”, which collects clothes and toys to give to underprivileged children.

Shanna Naider

Shanna Naider hails from Northern Virginia but spent the last ten years in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. She attended the University of Pittsburgh where she graduated with a degree in Rehabilitation Science and a certificate in Pathokineisiology. She earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Pittsburgh in 2017. A former dancer, Shanna has worked in Outpatient Orthopedics and Sports since 2017 where she specialized in rehabilitation of dancers and performing artists, providing coverage for the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, Point Park University Dancers, and Bodiography Contemporary Ballet. Shanna has organized and led musculoskeletal screenings for dancers and runners. She also specialized in treating hip injuries, working closely with one of the top hip surgeons in Pittsburgh where she was a member of the Hip Preservation Program team. She is a proponent of utilizing manual techniques and empowering patients to take an active role in their injury recovery. She is certified in Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) Therapy and as a Mat Level 1 Pilates instructor through PHI Pilates. Shanna still dances recreationally and has enjoyed teaching ballet for adults over the past 10 years as well.

Joe Zarett, MPT, founded Zarett Rehab & Fitness in 1995. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science and a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from University of the Sciences, graduating in 1989. After working in orthopedic clinics for a few years, he opened his own practice at 520 S. 19th Street. Through extraordinary outcomes, he built a distinguished reputation as Philadelphia’s top physical therapist and grew his clinic by word of mouth. His practice grew from a basement facility to an upscale, multi-story facility for top athletes, business executives, musicians and dancers recovering from injuries and surgeries. Joe offers a unique approach that is different from typical physical therapy providers in order to achieve the most effective outcomes for his patients. Specializing in orthopedics, sports rehabilitation and fitness training, Zarett’s method combines three aspects of physical rehabilitation.
